Bear Rocks Community Club in Acme, PA

Joe and Shirley DiFalco as well as Dom and Carol Palmieri attended a fund raising oldies dance that was held on Friday, April 9th at the Bear Rocks Community Club in Acme, PA. Residents of the Acme community are mounting a legal challenge to a proposed stone quarry that would be doing business in their back yards if Joe Hardy and a group of investors have their way. Chris Drum, one of the organizers of the legal challenge and a highly accomplished ballroom dance instructor, began the festivities with a rumba lesson. Little Larry Joe of Larry's DJ Service kept the dance floor packed the entire evening. Chris approached Joe and Dom and asked if they would like to sing a song. The guys put together a two part rendition of Sincerely and were introduced by Chris as The Streetlights Minus Two. Best wishes to Chris Drum and her committee as they move forward with their legal challenge.

New web page design

My web page designer came up with the perfect page design for The Streetlights. Check it out at
www.thestreetlights.com

She was able to truly capture the spirit of Doo Wop in her design. Doo Wop originated on the street corners of the major metropolitan areas of the United States. As daylight disappeared, the street lights would come on and the Doo Woppers would come out to sing their vocal harmonies.

Long live Doo Wop!

Plans to cut a demo have been delayed

The Streetlights were hoping to cut our first demo, but the weather has caused us to postpone. We're still digging out after a major snowstorm dropped anywhere from 12-23 inches of snow and the governor of Pennsylvania declared a state of emergency. The National Weather Service has forecasted another 6-8 inches of snow for our immediate area. Stay tuned!
